In the underground tunnels, visitors will experience extraordinary sensations – only here can you see a secret and authentic uranium mine.

Intensive work led to the creation of the Underground Tourist Route “Liczyrzepa Mine – Kowary Adits” on April 29, 2000. The complex of adits No. 9, 9a, 7, and 8 is the largest and most interesting underground facility in the region. The total length of all mining tunnels is about 80 km. Exploring our underground, you’ll discover the true face of mining. Here, every wall and every corridor bears traces of hard miners’ labor. Each tunnel and chamber is a living symbol of the extraordinary pact formed long ago between man and powerful nature.

Uranium ore mining was shrouded in secrecy, which led to its legendary history being full of various ambiguities and distortions. During a one-hour expedition with experienced guides led by mining engineer Franciszek Gawor, Technical Director of ZPR-1, you’ll uncover secrets hidden for years and learn why uranium was sought.

The Liczyrzepa Mine – Kowary Adits is the safest mine in Poland, with 13 dosimetric points along the route constantly monitored by the Nofer Institute of Occupational Medicine in Łódź.

The largest Walons’ Treasury with its collection of minerals, precious stones, ores, and raw materials will delight even the most sophisticated visitors.

We won’t reveal all the attractions awaiting tourists who venture into the underground world to discover the top-secret history of U-235. Who knows what other possibilities our underground holds – each subsequent visit is sure to surprise with something new and extraordinary!
