The Sanctuary of the Passion of Christ and Our Lady of Kalwaria is not limited to just the church and monastery, but extends to the surrounding hills and valleys, meadows and forests. Through its chapels, it brings the faithful closer to the mysteries of faith drawn from the life of Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Due to its special devotion to the Passion of Christ, it has been called the “Jerusalem of the East,” while its veneration of the miraculous image of Our Lady and the love of Mary by the faithful has earned it the title “Jasna Góra of Subcarpathia.” This is an exceptional, holy place where God, in His own mysterious way, pours out His blessings and enriches pilgrims with His graces. Currently, the Sanctuary comprises the Church, a Franciscan monastery, 41 Stations of the Cross chapels, and a Pilgrim House that provides accommodation and meals for pilgrims visiting Kalwaria.
