The Royal Castle in Niepolomice

You can get medals at the museum checkout!
In the middle of the 14th century, King Casimir the Great built an extensive Gothic castle on the slope of the Vistula river valley. At the same time, the settlement of Niepołomice was established. For centuries, it was the residence of Polish kings. Rebuilt and destroyed several times, it regained its splendour again. After several years of renovation and adaptation work, the royal residence is now open to visitors and tourists providing a variety of attractions. (The castle, restored in Renaissance style, serves as a cultural and business centre. Its renovated historical interiors host numerous entertainment events: recitals, concerts, feasts, weddings, performances and knightly tournaments).
