The Teutonic Castle Cultural Centre was established at the beginning of 2007 on the initiative of the Municipality of Toruń and is a self-governing cultural institution.

The scope of activity of ‘Zamek Krzyżacki’ includes cultural and tourist development of the ruins of the Teutonic castle in Toruń and its surroundings, permanent protection of the entrusted cultural heritage and promotion of this place in the country and abroad.

In order to carry out its tasks, ‘Teutonic Castle’ undertakes the following activities: organising cultural and promotional activities in various forms; organising cultural events, open-air events, festivals, competitions, etc.; cooperating with the social cultural movement in Toruń and with the local government in order to promote the castle. ; co-operation with the social cultural movement in the organisation of events; co-operation with other institutions in the country and abroad, making the entrusted cultural assets available for scientific purposes and co-operating in this respect with museums, scientific and research institutions; co-operation with other organisations, including those promoting tourism in the country and abroad information, educational and popularisation activities; and any other steps related to its activities resulting from the needs of the local environment.
