Silesian Zoological Garden in Chorzów

Medals available at the hippopotamus pavilion near the elephants, at the meerkat pavilion, and by the tiger enclosure!
The Silesian Zoological Garden has a very large area of pavilions accessible to visitors, allowing for visits even during the winter season. All pavilions in the zoo have ramps and railings, enabling full access for visitors with disabilities. One of the newest investments in the zoo is the creation of a Mini-Zoo. This children’s area allows the youngest visitors to have direct contact with gentle animals under the supervision of zoo staff. The Mini-Zoo is extremely popular among visitors. Equally popular is the Dinosaur Valley – the only exhibition of its kind featuring extinct reptiles in Europe.
The zoo features numerous pathways through rich, often exotic greenery, extensive catering facilities, and a location very close to the center of major Silesian urban areas. For many residents of the Silesian Voivodeship, this makes it the only easily accessible place for rest and recreation. This was, in fact, the original concept behind creating this largest park in Europe, along with all the institutions located within its grounds.
