‘…Roztoka became the most important base for Polish mountaineering. Who did not visit there before attacking the most outstanding Tatra walls, summer and winter, the very celebrities of the mountaineering elite. In the common room of the wooden chalet, on rainy days, ‘hot heads’ solved theoretically many of the most difficult rock problems, which were later confirmed practically. Only the blackened planks of the walls of the dining room would probably still today like to speak in the voices of the conquerors, because in them, like on a tape recorder, everything was recorded.’
The hostel is located on the route leading to Morskie Oko, a trail frequented by Karol Wojtyla, later Pope John Paul II.
