Podlaskie Museum – Museum of Sculpture in Bialystok

Medals available at the main entrance!

The Alfons Karny Sculpture Museum was established in 1993 in Białystok, the artist’s birthplace. Karny ranked among the most outstanding sculptors of interwar Poland, with his portrait works earning numerous national and international awards, including the prestigious Jean Masson Davidson Medal from the Society of Portrait Sculptors.

The museum preserves Karny’s sculptures and documents his artistic legacy while hosting contemporary art exhibitions (painting, sculpture, graphic arts, photography). Its inclusive educational programs specially accommodate visitors with visual, hearing, or intellectual disabilities.

The core exhibition features the Gallery of Great Poles – Karny’s portrait sculptures from the Podlasie Museum collections, complemented by loans of period furniture, paintings, coins, and archival materials that illuminate the artist’s life.
