National Museum in Kielce

Medals available in the souvenir shop!
The National Museum in Kielce is an institution with over 100 years of tradition. Its collections include valuable exhibits in the fields of painting, artistic crafts, folk art, archaeology and nature.
The museum’s main headquarters is a perfectly preserved 17th-century palace that once belonged to the bishops of Kraków. The permanent exhibition features 17th and 18th-century interiors, an exhibition of Ancient European and Eastern Armaments, the Sanctuary of Marshal Józef Piłsudski, and in the north wing, a Gallery of Polish Painting and Decorative Arts.
The museum also organizes numerous temporary exhibitions. The palace hosts concerts, lectures, workshops for children and youth, as well as family events. Rooms are available for rent. Its long tradition obliges, and the museum continues to make efforts to become increasingly attractive and open to visitors. In September 2009, it was awarded the ISO 9001:2008 Certificate, and in 2010 the palace was adapted for disabled visitors. The museum also has exhibition halls at the Market Square and Orla Street, as well as two branches: the Museum of Stefan Żeromski’s School Years and Henryk Sienkiewicz’s Palace in Oblęgorek.
For all those enchanted by the atmosphere of the Palace of the Bishops of Kraków, our museum’s headquarters, we offer a special opportunity: a guest room in the south wing and the possibility of renting halls.
