Mazovian Museum in Plock

Medals for sale in the shop!

The museum was created from a merger of the collections of the Płock Scientific Society and the Provincial School, one of the oldest existing institutions of its kind in Poland. The first exhibition was shown in two rooms of the Malachowianka.

The first exhibition was shown in two rooms of the Malachowianka.

From 1912 to 1971, the museum occupied the buildings of the Płock Scientific Society. In 1967, the first museum presentation of Art Nouveau art in Poland was organised; currently it has the largest collection of Art Nouveau art in Poland. Since 2005, it has been housed in its new premises – a beautiful, renovated tenement house at 8 Toruńska Street in the Old Town.

The museum has its own ethnographic department in a granary on the Vistula in Płock, which has been adapted for the museum.
