Marionette Theatre – Schönbrunn Palace

The Marionette Theater Schönbrunn Palace operates as a private theater. Its two founders and artistic directors, Christine Hierzer-Riedler and Werner Hierzer, bring over 30 years of international experience in the art of puppetry.

They have performed in prestigious cities worldwide, including Athens, Berlin, Boston, Brussels, Cannes, Florence, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Mexico City, Miami, Montreal, New York, Paris, Beijing, Rome, and Seoul.

Since 1995, the theater has also been training talented young puppeteers, performing year-round at their home venue in Schönbrunn and on international tours.

The marionettes, costumes, stage sets, and technical equipment are all crafted in-house, created in collaboration with renowned directors, set designers, and costume designers.
