Kashubian Eye in Gniewino

Medals available in the elevator by the tower!

Take a look at Gniewino! The “Kashubian Eye” Tourist and Recreation Complex, established in 2006, offers numerous attractions for visitors to the Gniewino municipality, whether traveling individually, with family, or in groups. Located on a high hill (approx. 113 m above sea level) near the upper reservoir of Poland’s largest pumped-storage power plant, the complex’s architecture was designed in the shape of an “eye” covering 4.2 hectares.

The centerpiece is the “pupil” – an Observation Tower offering panoramic views stretching all the way to the Baltic coast. Its base is surrounded by the “iris” – a botanical garden arranged in French style, while an original “eyelash” is represented by a pergola along the walking path.

The 44-meter tall hourglass-shaped Observation Tower features a central core with spiral stairs winding upwards. Visitors can reach the viewing platform at 36 meters either by climbing 212 steps or taking the elevator inside the tower’s core.

What can you see from the tower?

North: Baltic Sea beaches (on clear days, even ships sailing the Baltic!)

Northeast: Remains of the famous nuclear power plant construction site across Lake Żarnowieckie

South: The vast 122-hectare upper reservoir of the pumped-storage plant

Southwest: A farm of 18 wind turbines

Outdoor recreational facilities include:

An 18-hole mini-golf course

A life-sized chessboard

A pirate ship-themed playground

Life-sized dinosaur models of Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus rex

The complex’s restaurants with tempting menus ensure your stay in Gniewino will be unforgettable.
