The Glass and Ceramics Center, located in Krakow at 3 Lipowa Street, is an initiative of the Glass and Building Materials Division of the Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials. This place brings the history and technology of glass art closer to Krakow residents and tourists through educational, didactic, exhibition and cultural activities.

The Glass and Ceramics Center consists of:

Lipowa 3 Gallery organizing cyclical exhibitions of works by contemporary Polish artists, while offering original, handmade glass and ceramic products (plates, bowls, glasses, figurines, boxes, jewelry)

Live glassblowing demonstrations – allowing you to see up close the fascinating process of glass creation, as well as try your hand at the glassblower’s craft.

“Glass in Krakow. Industry and Art. 1931-1998” – a permanent exhibition on the history and technology of glassmaking, including a collection of original tools used for manual glass production, a collection of antique glass vessels from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as a collection of contemporary artistic colored glass produced between 1969-1998 at Lipowa 3

A student education center for, among others, the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (major in “Ceramics”, specialization “Materials for Conservation and Revitalization”) and the Academies of Fine Arts in Krakow and Wroclaw (Faculties of: Sculpture, Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art, Ceramics and Glass), covering didactic, laboratory and semi-industrial classes in glass, ceramics and building materials production

A production center for building materials based on Roman cement: plastering, masonry mortars and paints – for use in the conservation of historic architecture.
