Passion and Marian Sanctuary in Wejherowo

The Wejherowo Sanctuary, founded by Jakub Wejher in the second half of the 17th century, is a Franciscan monastery complex with a church housing the Miraculous Image of Our Lady of Wejherowo and the Wejherowo Calvary, known as the “Kashubian Jerusalem.” The Miraculous Image is the only one in Kashubia to be crowned by Pope John Paul II (June 5, 1999). The Wejherowo Calvary, visited by crowds of pilgrims and tourists, is the third oldest Calvary in Poland after those in Zebrzydowska and Pakoska. Wejherowo is the most important and largest pilgrimage site in Kashubia. Due to its historical significance, it is considered the spiritual capital of Kashubia.
