Liechtenstein Castle

The castle, with its fortified and mighty walls and towers, along with its delicate ornaments, still stands today as a magnificent monument of medieval architecture and fortification art. It also bears witness to the representational ambitions of the Liechtenstein princes.
Impressive distant views can be enjoyed from the north balcony of the castle—spanning the entire Vienna Basin all the way to Bratislava. In the main floor and the lower castle, large sections of Romanesque masonry remain intact and can be viewed. Massive beam ceilings, weapons, and furniture reflect the historicist ideals of the 19th century and can be seen in the hall and living quarters. The hall itself still features an original preserved Romanesque sleeping niche.
