Illuka Manor

Illuka Manor (German: Illuck) was established in 1657. At the end of the 19th century, when it belonged to the Dieckhoff family, the manor center was rebuilt in a more representative style. Between 1885–1888, a new historicist-style main building was constructed according to the design of Friedrich Modi. The building features a Neo-Gothic stepped gable and arched windows typical of the Neo-Renaissance style.
Around the same period, most of the outbuildings were also renovated. These were located mainly to the north and west of the main building, while to the south lay a large park.
In 1912, the manor was acquired by Claus von Nottbeck. After the land reform and expropriation in 1919, a school moved into the main building in 1921. This school, known today as Illuka Basic School, still operates in the same location. The building underwent extensive restoration in the 1990s.
At the edge of the manor park behind the main building, a large sports and catering complex has been built. The manor offers accommodation and catering services upon request, mainly based in this new facility. Further information is available.
Several manor outbuildings have also been preserved, though most have been partially or extensively rebuilt.
Historically part of Virumaa in the Jõhvi parish, the manor is now located in Illuka municipality in Ida-Viru County.
