Home Army Museum in Cracow

Medals available in the main hall!

The Home Army Museum named after Gen. Emil Fieldorf “Nil” is located in a historic building, built just before World War I as part of the logistics base of the Austro-Hungarian Kraków Fortress. Located about 300 meters from the train station, it served the Polish Army during the interwar period and after WWII. In 2011, the revitalization of the building was completed, and in 2012 the permanent exhibition was opened. The museum, renovated with EU funds, has received multiple architectural awards.

The exhibition “The Polish Underground State and its Armed Forces” showcases thousands of memorabilia and archival materials — uniforms, photos, medals, weapons (both factory-made and homemade by the resistance), parts of an Enigma machine, artifacts from elite paratroopers (Cichociemni), and the posthumously awarded Order of the White Eagle. It also includes reconstructions of a Vickers tank, V2 rocket, Halifax bomber, and an underground press shelter. Part of the display is interactive and multimedia.
