A MONUMENT TO HISTORY. A former magnate residence of the pallazo in fortezza type, erected by Stanisław Prince Lubomirski in the years 1628-1641. At the turn of the 18th/19th century, it was stripped of its defensive features to become a magnificent palace establishment surrounded by an extensive landscape park. From the beginning of the 19th century until 1944, the estate was in the possession of Count Potocki. Between 1889 and 1911, Łańcut Castle was transformed into a luxurious aristocratic residence, admired throughout Europe at the time.Today, it is a significant museum complex, enjoying the constant interest of tourists from all over the world, a meeting place for international diplomats, a scientific centre and a centre for artistic and cultural events. In 1996, a meeting of nine Central European presidents took place here. In 2005, the palace and park complex in Łańcut was entered on the prestigious list of Monuments of History, comprising 30 of the most valuable historical buildings in Poland.

YOU CAN SEE several dozen historic residential interiors dating from the mid-17th century to the early 20th century, a rich collection of works of art as their furnishings, the largest collection of horse-drawn vehicles in the country assembled in the authentic Stables and Coach-House buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, a historic landscape park covering an area of hectares, formed from the mid-18th century with a reconstructed Orchid House, exhibits showing 650 years of the city’s and region’s history. The museum has a hectare landscape park with a reconstructed orchid garden dating back to the mid-18th century, exhibits depicting 650 years of the city’s and region’s history, souvenirs of the 10th Regiment of Mounted Riflemen from Łańcut, which was part of General Stanisław Maczek’s 1st Armoured Division during World War II, and a collection of Orthodox church art from south-eastern Poland.
