Discover the soothing magic of Będkowska Valley…

The lyrical atmosphere of this place is created by a fairytale landscape enclosed between valley slopes, the melody of a stream accompanied by crickets and the sound of a nearby waterfall, and finally the harmony of forest scents contrasted with the aroma of sausages roasting over a campfire.

Będkowska is the largest and perhaps most beautiful valley in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. It boasts unique aesthetic and landscape values (limestone rocks, river, forests, meadows, waterfall, caves), natural and geological features, as well as historical significance (Brandysówka’s connection to the history of Polish mountaineering, WWII battle trenches, remains of a 12th-century settlement). It’s crossed by hiking, cycling, and educational trails (Cave Valley, Małopolska Geotourist Trail, Jurassic Fortresses Trail).

Numerous rock formations scattered throughout the area are popular among climbers. The valley and Brandysówka are linked to the beginnings of Polish mountaineering. It was here, as early as the 1920s, that pioneers of rock climbing (the “Pokutnicy” group) trained, often enjoying the hospitality of Brandysówka’s owners. Since then, generations of climbers have visited the Będkowska Valley area.
